Dental Bridges - Free Consultation At Dental Art Clinics!

What Are Dental Bridges?

Dental Bridges are fixtures that literally bridge the gaps created by single or multiple missing teeth. These bridges consist of multiple dental crowns and a pontic tooth or teeth (fake tooth or teeth) between the supporting teeth.Dental Bridges

There are 2 types of Dental Bridges that we provide – traditional bridge and cantilever bridge.

Traditional bridge is the most common selection for restoring teeth with dental bridges. This type of bridge contains crowns that are fixed onto neighbouring teeth on either side of the missing tooth, with a pontic (fake tooth) in between.

Cantilever bridge is used when there are only adjacent teeth on one side of the missing tooth/teeth. In this case, the false teeth are anchored to one or more adjacent teeth on the side with teeth.

When Are Dental Bridges Needed?

Dental Bridges are usually used if you’re missing one or more teeth as they span the space left by the missing teeth. Over time, a lack of teeth can cause problems with your bite and can cause the deformation of the facial structure. They help:

  • Restore your smile;
  • Restore the ability to properly speak and chew;
  • Allocate the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth;
  • Maintain the shape of your face;
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.

What Is The Dental Bridge Procedure?

Dental Bridge TreatmentThe Dental Bridge Procedure is quite similar to the Dental Crown Procedure. The tooth needs to be reduced in size by being filed before a bridge (as well as crown) can be made.

Our dental experts will take an impression to create the exact mould for the bridge. This impression will then be sent to our dental lab to make your dental bridge. A temporary bridge will be provided until the permanent bridge is created. After it is ready, the temporary bridge is taken out and the permanent one is cemented over your prepared tooth or teeth.

What About Dental Bridge After Care?

Maintaining a good oral hygiene, having regular dental check-ups and professional cleaning is very important to maintain the durability and the wellness of dental bridges.

How Long Do Dental Bridges Last?

With proper care, dental bridges can last from 5 to 7 years, or even longer.
